Design creates culture. Culture shapes values. Values determine the future.

( These three images are of my backyard. We have designed our backyard with our children in mind. We have designed our backyard to have a interactive cubby house, vegetable gardens, compost bin and chicken coop. Our culture for our family is to encourage our children to interact with nature. Our culture is shaping our family values and therefore shaping our children's futures)

In most people's vocabularies, design means veneer. It's interior decorating. It's the fabric of the curtains of the sofa. But to me, nothing could be further from the meaning of design. Design is the fundamental soul of a human-made creation that ends up expressing itself in successive outer layers of the product or service.
