All about me

My real name is Krystle and I have a wonderful husband who from here on in will be known as Mr DIY. (Odd name I know, but this is my husband. You will understand once i have posted a picture of the two storey cubby house he built for our two kids in our backyard.)
I have two beautiful children: Madeline (or Maddie) 3.5 years old and Patrick (or PJ) 2 years old. We live in an South Western suburb of Sydney. We have a dog named Hollie and just recently added 3 baby chickens to our family (You will be on the adventure of raising chickens with us, over the next couple of months neither Mr DIY or myself have had chickens before).
I currently getting ready to start my second year at UOW, studying a bachelor of primary education. I LOVE uni, last year was the most stressful, enlightening and fun year of my life thus far! The adventure of self discovery and self determination over the past year has been an interesting one. I have finished my first year of uni feeling more  reassured, passionate and determined to start my career in teaching.
I love my family. I love nothing more than to watch my children playing with each other or seeing their eyes light up when they see either me or their father. Watching them expel the unconditional love they feel for us with big cuddles is so heart warming. I passionately believe in teaching my children independence, compassion and moral values and try to teach my children these through real world/ everyday experiences.
I love the environment and i truly believe that as individuals we can all work towards living our lives self sufficiently ! We as a family planted a vegetable garden, started a composed bin and just recently brought baby chickens. I remember when i was a kid playing in dirt making mud pies, searching for tadpoles in my local creek bed and riding to school on my bike. i want these memories for my children! i don't want there fondest memories to be of them sitting in their bedrooms playing on the latest game console or watching mindless television. i want my kids to explore, experience and love the wonders of nature. I hope 2011 brings us many more adventures as we work towards meet our goal towards self sufficiency.
